Privacy Policy

blffr.io has no accounts, no tracking cookies, no ads and no analytics that follow you around the web. This page lists everything the game does with data.

In your browser

Your chosen name, color, icon, language, theme, sound setting, list of muted players, and a random device id are kept in your browser's localStorage. The device id stops one browser from taking many seats in the same room. You can clear all of it from the Privacy or Cookies window in the game footer.

On the server, while you play

While you are in a room the server holds the game state: your name, icon, color, score, hints, answers and chat messages. It lives in memory only and is gone when the room closes. The server does not keep game history.

AI services for bots

To let computer players give hints, chat and vote, the game sends the current round to AI services: the secret word or question, the hints and answers given, player names and recent chat messages from that room. These providers are Google (Gemini API), and as backups Mistral AI and Groq. Nothing else about you is sent, and no requests are made for rooms without bots.

Discord app

When you use /blffr, Discord sends us your display name, your Discord language and ids for the command. We use the name and language to write the invite message and pick the word language, and keep nothing afterwards.

Reports, submissions and contact

Reports, contact messages and suggested words or questions are emailed to the developer and kept on the server so they can be handled.

Hosting

The game runs on Fly.io in Stockholm. Like any web server it sees your IP address, which can appear in short-lived technical logs and is used for rate limiting. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts.

Your rights and contact

Write to hello@blffr.io to ask about, or have deleted, anything you sent us. blffr.io is run by Fred, an independent developer in Denmark.
